Mending Nets

Tel Dor Museum, Israel 7/2006
These were lead net weights and tools for mending fishing nets from the Hellenistic-Roman era on display.
The day before seeing these net mending tools in the museum, I had photographed a man repairing a net near the side of Joppa (Yafo-Tel Aviv) Harbor.

I recalled that Jesus asked John and James Zebedee to follow him while they were mending their nets.
Peter, at one time a fisherman by trade, had gone to Joppa after Jerusalem became unsafe for him.
